“My friend Stephen J. Nichols, a fellow studier of dead people and dust-infested documents, along with our dear brothers and sisters at Crossway books have provided an ingenious new book that will teach children the highlights of church history. . . . The book is well illustrated with colorful caricatures of historical figures from the excellent pen of illustrator Ned Bustard” • • • Jeff Robinson

“Delightfully produced, hilariously illustrated, The Church History ABCs captures the imagination . . . This should be in every home.” • • • Derek Thomas

“Fascinating! I was pleased to see the inclusion of my great aunt Florence Young under Y. . . . [T]he successor to the boat The Evangel (pictured on that page) was named Liutasi -- the One Who Goes Everywhere -- after my Dad, who was a great explorer, photographer and adventurer who actually skippered those early mission yachts. ” • • • Luci Shaw

E is for eggs, elephants, and Jonathan Edwards. How did I miss that when I learned the alphabet? Alas, public education. But now, thanks to The Church History ABCs, a new book by Stephen J. Nichols and Ned Bustard, the breakdown in my education has been corrected.” • • • Gregg Metcalf

The Church History ABCs really is tremendous-looking. I think it is one of the more artfully designed kid's picture books on any Christian publishing house . . And the content? Whewie, let's hear it for nerdiness of the first order. A kid's book about church history? Most adults don't even read church history. Well. Maybe, just maybe, that may be part of these dude's sneaky plan. Come to think of it, I'll bet this will make Screwtape himself squirm like the devil: helping young covenant kids learn about martyrs and heroes . . .” • • • Byron Borger
